Frontier Legacy Bargaining Updates
2/15/12 Progress was made last week. We were
able to identify areas that we can work on. Off table discussions
continue. Additional dates for formal bargaining will be scheduled
as soon as possible. Stay mobilized!
2/9/12 The Union and the Company met Wednesday
and Thursday to review the Company’s last proposal. The Union
expressed the reasons that the Company’s proposal is unacceptable.
We restated the Union’s demands and identified areas of concerns
that must be addressed in order for a contract to be reached.
Members must continue to mobilize while we work through this
process.

FRONTIER LEGACY BARGAINING UPDATE for both Local 2001/St. Marys WV &
Local 2276/Bluefield WV bargaining units.
Bargaining for Local 2001 was initially set for Sep.26th but, for
several reasons, it was decided to use the dates for Local 2276.
Local 2276 met with the Company on Sep.26th & 27th. Little progress
was made. The Company put an all-inclusive offer on the table and
Local 2276’s comm...ittee, after reviewing the offer, told the
Company's chief negotiator that the offer does not adequately
address the parity issue for the members. Bargaining for Local 2276
will resume on Oct.24th & 25th, with an expiration of 11:59pm on the
25th.
Local 2001’s contract had been extended until September 27th at
11:59 pm. Late into the evening on Sep.27th, the Company & Union
agreed to extend that agreement until Nov.2nd at 11:59 pm. The Local
2001 bargaining committee is scheduled to meet again with the
Company on Nov.1st & 2nd.
We must continue to mobilize & support both of the bargaining
committees and the brothers and sisters in both of these units.
WE ARE ONE – ONE COMPANY and ONE UNION!
9/1/11 7:00 pm
Some progress was
made today. However, key issues -- such as parity and contracting
of work -- remain unresolved. The parties have agreed to a contract
extension of Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 11:59 pm. Our next
meeting with the Company is scheduled for September 26th.
Our brothers and sisters at CWA Local 2276 will resume bargaining
with the Company next week and the Local 2001 Bargaining Committee
is committed to stand behind them just as they have stood with us.
Our strength and our success comes from our members and our unity.
Solidarity forever, brothers and sisters!
8/31/11 9:00 pm
Bargaining for the Local 2001 Frontier Legacy
contract resumed today. The contract is set to expire tomorrow
night, Thursday September 1st at 11:59 pm. Zero
progress was made today. Frontier’s idea of bargaining is to tell
the Union the Company’s policies and expect us to make the contract
language fit their policies. That’s not our idea of bargaining.
Our key issues remain parity with our counterparts under the former
Verizon contract and the use – more so the OVER use – of
contractors. CEO Wilderotter and Frontier executives had no problem
giving themselves generous raises. Quite frankly, it makes us
sick!
August 12, 2011 1:15 am
The Bargaining Committee met late into the
night with the Company. We are still far apart on key issues but
talks have not broken down. Therefore, the contract expiration has
been extended until September 1st at 11:59 pm. The
increased mobilization activities across the state and across
bargaining units have made a difference and must continue. Stay
strong! Stay united!
August 11, 2011 4:55 pm
No agreement has been reached and what is on
the table now is not acceptable. The Union and Company Bargaining
Teams will reconvene later this evening. We will update the hotline
as new information is available.
Thank you to our brothers and sisters under the
former Verizon contract for showing their unity this morning by
holding informational picketing at Frontier’s Regional Headquarters
1500 MacCorkle Ave Charleston and at the hotel where bargaining is
taking place, as well as the site of bargaining for IBEW Local
317.
WE ARE ALL IN THIS FIGHT TOGETHER!
SOLIDARITY FOREVER!
August 9, 2011
Bargaining resumed today. Key issues – parity
in compensation and contracting of bargaining unit work -- remain
unresolved. Members are asked to tell the Company all the way to
the top that we will not be treated like second class citizens by
the Company that we helped build. Members should contact their
activity captains for instructions for Thursday at midnight.
Mobilize now. Code red.

CWA Local 2001’s Frontier Legacy Bargaining
Committee and Frontier Communications have agreed to an extension of
the collective bargaining agreement until August 12, 2011 at 12:00
AM (meaning Thursday PM/Friday AM). Talks continued today with the
Company. They presented the Union with additional proposals. The
Union presented additional data requests, counter proposals and
additional proposals. Progress has been made but no agreement has
been reached—in large part due to formal bargaining just beginning
on Monday, July 25th. The Company requires time to
prepare the data requested by the Union. Additional time is also
needed to allow the Bargaining Committee to carefully prepare
counter proposals on critical issues. The membership must remain
strong and continue to show the Company that WE ARE ONE!
July 26, 2011
The Bargaining Committee met with the Company
Monday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 26th. The
Bargaining Committee has made it clear that wage parity is our top
issue. Talks will resume tomorrow. The Company is scheduled to
give a presentation on Health and Welfare, Retirement and
Disability.
All members are asked to join the Bargaining
Committee and Union leaders and members from across the state and
the national for a solidarity rally on Thursday, July 28th
4:30 pm at Frontier’s Southeast Regional Headquarters, 1500
MacCorkle Avenue, Charleston.

July 25, 2011
Bargaining between CWA Local 2001 and
Frontier Communications on our Legacy contract begins Monday, July
25th. The current contract expires Sunday, July 31st at 11:59 PM.
The Union offered dates well before July 25th to begin bargaining.
However, the Company made themselves available just 6 days before
expiration.
Bargaining surveys were sent to all
members in the bargaining unit in June. The Bargaining Committee has
met and prepared proposals that reflect the demands of the unit.
A strike vote has been taken and the
membership overwhelmingly authorized CWA's Executive Board to call a
strike. The unit is ready to do whatever it takes to get a fair
contract -- one that brings parity between Frontier Legacy and
Frontier "Acquired". WE ARE ONE!
All members -- don't forget to wear read
on Thursday.
SOLIDARITY FOREVER!!
