2009

|
|
Dear ACFC Covered Employee, |
|
Welcome to the November 2009
ACFC News and Promotions
E-Newsletter. What a glorious
time of year! The fall colors
signal the start of the holiday
season, beginning with
Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a
special holiday in so many ways.
Not only is it a day to give
thanks to our founding fathers
(and mothers), but it also gives
us all a day to reflect on how
much we have to give thanks for
in our own lives, and to spend
time with our families. Of
course, we are all thankful for
the abundance of food on
Thanksgiving day.
Featured this month is the Flu
Awareness Kit. The ACFC is
providing some essential tools
to help you protect yourself and
your family from colds and flu
this Fall and Winter season.
Visit the
ACFCcares website,
from home or work, for
all the latest information, and
a preparedness guide, on the
H1N1 flu.
Check back later in the month
for other great books and
resources, and upcoming links to
Kids Eat Free resources. You'll
find information about
restaurants that offer free
kids' meals to help make those
special eating-out occasions
affordable.
Please remember that supplies
are limited so the ACFC asks
that you only request
promotional items that apply to
you or your immediate family.

The Great American Smokeout
|
|
Another important event in
November is the Great American
Smokeout, held each year by the
American Cancer Society. This
year the event will be on

set aside to help smokers quit
smoking, and quit using tobacco
products, for at least one day,
with the hope that they will
quit completely.
V-Z Life is supporting this
effort with their monthly
Life411 Promo:
Becoming-and-Staying-Tobacco
Free. Learn about ways to deal
with difficult conversations
about smoking, ways to quit, and

Cessation Booklet.
