COMMITTEES OF LOCAL 2001

Audit Committee
Inspects all vouchers and statements, checking for accuracy or malpractice each quarter and announce the results at the next regular meeting. A complete audit will be conducted in October or November of each year making the results known to the membership.

Community Services Committee
Carries out all programs of the union as mandated by the convention, that falls under their direction including the administration of the Defense Fund and any local mandate that falls under their direction according to the By-Laws and policies of the Local.

Education Committee
Assists in developing the Local's educational programs and with the Executive Board will be responsible for effectuating the union's and Local's education programs.

Election Committee
Conducts nominations and elections of the Local.  Follows procedures formulated to cover all balloting within the Local, with the procedures approved by the Executive Board and available to the membership. Has the responsibility and authority to ensure nominations and elections are conducted in accordance with the Union Constitution, Local By-Laws and Rules of the Local.

Legislative Committee
Shall  assist in developing and pursuing the programs of the union and the Local in the legislative field.

Membership Committee
Shall accept or reject membership applications in accordance with the By-Laws and Rules of the Local, Article V of the Constitution and policies of the Union, subject to the right of the membership to overrule such decisions.

Mobilization Committee
Shall develop and carry out mobilization activities around important workplace issues and develop contract mobilization plans.

Organizing Committee
Assist’s the Executive Board and stewards in organizing all non-union employees within the Local's jurisdiction.

Safety Committee
Shall make sure employer is complying with the legal responsibility to provide a place of employment free of recognized hazards likely to cause serious physical harm.

Union Labels Committee
Shall keep a current list of all unions in dispute with their employers and report same to each regular membership meeting.

Women’s Concerns Committee
Educates our members on women’s concerns and shall have the responsibility of researching all women’s concerns.
