huntingon strikeUnion Workers in the service and maintenance units (SEIU) District 1199  at Cabell Huntington Hospital went on strike at 12 noon, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 after failing to reach agreement on a contract.  This is the first time in 23 years Union workers have been on strike.

After months of negotiations with CHH, who have made it clear they value profits over workers the Members walked out on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at noon.  Members from CWA Local 2001 were there to stand in Solidarity and support for the Union Members.

Members are striking due to the Company wanting to take away Retiree Insurance, they want to limit union time and bring in subcontractors, as well as freezing the pay of Union members. Through the 3rd quarter of this year St. Marys and CHH have enjoyed a $64M profit.

The last report we have is the sides are meeting today, November 8, 2021.
