The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters. We are dedicated to helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus.
Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred on or after January 20, 2020.

Cabell Huntington Hospital strike ended December 1st after members voted to approve the new contract. More than 800 workers walked off the job November 3rd when the SEIU District 1199’s contract expired with the hospital.
In the last proposal the hospital withdrew their concessionary proposals, including cuts in holiday pay as part of the bargaining process. The workers have gain a 2 percent increase across the board and shift differential was increased.
The Union Members had the community and other Unions standing with them, with Local 2001 attending to walk the picket line on occasion.
