CWA/FRONTIER BARGAINING REPORT #29

Thursday - March 01, 2018

The Union Bargaining Committee and Company Bargaining Committee met today.  The Union asked for clarification of items in the Company’s package offer, including components of the Company’s healthcare proposal.  There was a lengthy discussion around the Company’s use of contract labor.  After a recess, the Union presented a wage proposal.  The Union restated that for this round of bargaining, employment security for every member, quality affordable healthcare, and the elimination of contractors are our members’ top issues.  There are still open issues and there is much work to be done.

There are two days left until contract expiration.  The Union Bargaining Committee continues to work day and night in hopes of reaching an agreement by the expiration.  The Union Bargaining Committee is energized by the excellent mobilizations throughout the state.  And the support from across District 2-13.  Check out the WV Fighting for our Future Facebook page to see all the support.

CWA/FRONTIER BARGAINING REPORT #28

Wednesday - February 28, 2018

The Union Bargaining Committee and Company Bargaining Committee met today. The Company presented a package offer which, among other issues, includes for the first time since bargaining began their healthcare plan. Also included in this package is the elimination of Employment Security that would result in over half of the bargaining unit not having protection.

Protecting Employment Security is the top priority during these negotiations. The Union Bargaining Committee is reviewing the details of this Company package and preparing a response. The Committees will reconvene tomorrow.

There are three days left until contract expiration. Don’t forget to wear RED tomorrow. For additional information stay in touch with your Local’s Mobilizer or Local Officer. CWA STRONG!

CWA/FRONTIER BARGAINING REPORT #27

Tuesday - February 27, 2018

The Union Bargaining Committee and Company Bargaining Committee met yesterday and today. The Union reiterated its proposals and issues important to our membership. The Union Bargaining Committee presented proposals relating to pension and 401k. The Company provided no responses to the Union’s proposals and offered no additional proposals. As of this report, Frontier STILL has not provide a healthcare proposal or counter to the Union’s healthcare proposal.

With four days left until contract expiration it is imperative that everyone continues showing unity and determination to achieve a fair contract. Tomorrow, Wednesday February 28, 2018 is CWA STRONG sticker day. Be sure to get with your Local’s Mobilizer to get your sticker and see what is next.

Please don’t listen to rumors. Official information will be provided in bargaining reports.

CWA/FRONTIER BARGAINING REPORT #26

Tuesday - February 27, 2018

Bargaining resumed this week. No progress has been made. As of this report, Frontier has yet to provide a healthcare proposal or respond to the Union’s healthcare proposal. All issues explained in last Friday’s comprehensive bargaining report remain on the table for both sides.

The Union Bargaining Committee remains available and ready to meet to work  through the issues in order to achieve a contract that addresses our members’ needs: employment security; quality, affordable healthcare; and the reduction of contractors and securing bargaining unit work.

The contract expires on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. With a little over one week to go, preparation and mobilization must continue and must be ratcheted up.  Great energy and commitment have been shown at Membership Meetings throughout the bargaining unit. The pictures from this week’s picketing in support of teachers and public workers; red Thursday; informational picketing; and black-out Friday are inspiring. Keep building on that intensity!

Bargaining is scheduled next week.

CWA/FRONTIER BARGAINING REPORT #25

Friday - February 16, 2018

Bargaining with Frontier will resume on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. This follows a three-week recess necessitated by the unavailability of the Company Bargaining Committee.

To date, the Union and the Company have not reached a tentative agreement on any issues. Critically important to CWA are employment security; quality, affordable healthcare; and the reduction of contractors and securing bargaining unit work.
