AT&T Mobility (Orange)

Today is the fifth anniversary of the historic strike at AT&T Mobility when 40,000 CWA members walked off the job for a three-day strike in protest of the company's failure to invest in good jobs. As members mark the anniversary of this strike and the workers’ victory that followed, they continue to mobilize to strengthen their power at the bargaining table and secure the new Orange AT&T Mobility contract they deserve.

AT&T Mobility workers mark the anniversary of the historic 2017 strike by continuing to mobilize for a fair contract.

DirecTV (Orange)

DirecTV members covered by the Orange Mobility contract in Eden Prairie, Minn.; Huntington, W.Va.; and Englewood, Colo. continue to mobilize for a fair contract. The workers are fighting back as the company engages in divisive tactics and puts profits before workers in order to appease their partners at the private equity firm TPG Capital.

ABC-Disney

On Saturday, NABET-CWA members at ABC-Disney reached a tentative agreement after more than seven months of bargaining. The new contract covers more than 3,000 daily hire and staff employees working as studio and field broadcast technicians, newswriters, producers, desk assistants, publicists, and other personnel at ABC Network's news, sports, and entertainment divisions, as well as company-owned television station operations in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Under the new contract, the workers will receive across-the-board wage increases of 3.25 percent each year for the next three years. For the first time, daily hire employees assigned to a “travel-only” day will receive hourly pay instead of a flat rate travel stipend. Improvements for full-time staff employees include a significant increase in the accrual rate for current participants in the ABC-NABET pension plan. Additionally, staff employees and daily hire employees who have 401(k) retirement accounts will benefit from a 25 percent increase in the company contribution.

Evoque Data Center Solutions

Last Wednesday, Evoque Data Center technicians, currently in contract negotiations, held an informational picket demanding a fair contract with fellow members of CWA Local 7050 outside the company’s data center in Mesa, Ariz. CWA represents approximately 65 data center technicians in 13 data centers across the United States. Recently, CWA members at Evoque have been joining with industry peers under the banner “CODE-CWA Data Center Workers” to build collective power to lift standards and improve working conditions throughout the industry. The bargaining team met with the company last Friday and offered a package that addresses job security and medical costs.

Sunrise Movement

On Wednesday, CWA Local 1180 members at Sunrise Movement, a youth-led movement organization advocating to stop climate change and create millions of American jobs, unanimously ratified their first contract after almost nine months of bargaining. The new three-year contract includes improved holiday language, 24-week parental leave, 100 percent short term disability pay, just cause protections, a 401(k) option, a strong bargaining unit job work protection clause, no changes to vacation and sick leave policies, and much more.

OFS Fitel, LLC

CWA members at OFS Fitel, LLC, a company that manufactures telecommunications and fiber optic products, have been holding informational pickets demanding a fair contract. The current contract, covering workers at two OFS locations in Norcross, Ga. (CWA Local 3263), and Sturbridge, Mass. (CWA Local 1400), is set to expire on May 29. The workers are fighting to ensure the company prioritizes essential workers over profits.

Greenbrier Hotel Corporation

Last Tuesday, workers at the Greenbrier Hotel Corporation in West Virginia, represented by a coalition of eight unions including CWA, ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The agreement provides an immediate wage increase for all of the 600 bargaining unit employees, a bonus in June 2022, and regular wage increases in 2023 and 2024. The agreement also includes health insurance benefits, retirement benefits, paid sick time, and other enhancements.
